FreshFriend Privacy Statement

We process privacy-sensitive data, also known as personal data, through our online store. FreshFriend BV considers the careful handling of personal data to be of great importance. Personal data is therefore carefully processed and secured.

We comply with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This means, among other things, that we:

  • limit our collection to only the personal data needed for legitimate purposes;

FreshFriend BV , located in Amsterdam, is responsible for data processing.

1. What data do we process and for what purpose?

We only process personal data that you provide to us or that we collect through our platform. Below is an overview for each purpose:

a) Order and delivery

To process and deliver your order correctly, we use:

  • Name and address

  • Email address

  • Phone number

  • Payment details

We share your data with:

  • Payment service providers (e.g. Mollie, PayPal)

  • Delivery services (e.g. PostNL, DPD)

Basis : performance of the agreement
 Retention period : 2 years after ordering; tax data 7 years

b) Customer service

When you contact us, we use your information to answer your question or handle your complaint.

Basis : legitimate interest
 Retention period : max. 12 months after processing

c) Marketing (email and SMS)

With your explicit consent we send:

  • Newsletters

  • Promotions and product updates

  • Shopping cart reminders

Retention period : until unsubscribe or withdrawal

You can always unsubscribe via the unsubscribe link in emails or by replying "STOP" to a text message. We use tools like Klaviyo (US, with standard contractual clauses) for this purpose.

d) Analysis and personalization

We analyze behavior on our site to improve our services and make our advertisements more relevant. For this purpose, we use, among other things:

  • Google Analytics (GA4) with IP anonymization

  • Meta Pixel for retargeting

  • Hotjar for usability

e) Cookies

On your first visit we will show you a cookie banner with which you can give permission for the placement of:

  • Functional cookies (required)

  • Analytical cookies (e.g. Google Analytics)

  • Marketing cookies (e.g. Meta, TikTok)

2. Transfer to third countries

Some of our processors (such as Klaviyo and Meta) are located in the United States. We have Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) in place with these parties to securely process your data outside the EU.

We remain responsible for your data, regardless of where it is processed.

3. Security

We take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data, such as:

  • SSL encryption

  • Two-factor authentication for our systems

  • Regular safety audits

Access to data is limited to employees and processors who need to know this data.

4. Your rights

You have the following rights:

  • Right to access your personal data

  • Right to correct incorrect data

  • Right to erasure ('forgetting')

  • Right to data portability

  • Right to object to certain processing

  • Right to withdraw your consent (e.g. for marketing)
